THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW
2020, Orion Classics, 85 min, USA, Dir: Jim Cummings

Writer-director-star Jim Cummings (THUNDER ROAD) travels to a small, snowbound town in Utah for this darkly comic horror-thriller. Snow Hollow is plagued by a spate of gruesome murders that coincide with the full moon. While the coroner and townsfolk think a 7-foot wolf may be responsible, Officer John Marshall (Cummings) believes a serial killer is on the loose. Unpredictable, immature and hot-headed, Marshall also has a big chip on his shoulder - his father (the late Robert Forster in a terrific turn) is the town’s Sheriff, a formidable man who refuses to retire for fear of being replaced by his lower-ranking son. With its electric script and acting, this low budget wonder is smart, funny, scary, bloody and made with tons of heart that shine through in every scene. - Spencer Hickman
