THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS
1989, 20th Century Fox, 114 min, USA, Dir: Steve Kloves

Brothers Frank and Jack (Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges) have carved out a career playing hackneyed jazz duets on matching grand pianos in night clubs. When they begin to see a downturn in the number of gigs they can get, they resort to the tried-and-true “sex sells” technique and hire eccentric, irreverent ex-escort Susie Diamond (Michelle Pfeifer) to sing as part of their routine. But even when the three-person act becomes a hit, the personal issues Frank and Jack have been harboring against each other – and Jack and Susie’s mutual attraction - threaten to break up the group’s newfound success.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI
1998, Universal, 117 min, USA, Dir: Joel Coen

“What do you do for recreation?” “Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.” The Dude (a perfectly cast Jeff Bridges) decides to seek satisfaction when he’s mistaken for an uptight multimillionaire with the same name, Jeffrey Lebowski (David Huddleston). Enlisting the help of his best bowling buddies, short-fuse ’Nam vet Walter (a brilliantly misguided John Goodman) and wimpy Donny (Steve Buscemi), the Dude is determined to get to the bottom of the confusion of identities. With an excellent and appropriately bizarre supporting cast, including a seductive, swing-riding Julianne Moore as Maude Lebowski, John Turturro as bowling rival and pederast “The Jesus,” and Tara Reid as millionaire Lebowski’s bored, pedicured trophy wife.

TRON
1982, Disney, 96 min, USA, Dir: Steven Lisberger

Hacker Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) is digitally abducted into the inner realm of the ENCOM computer, where he must compete in virtual gladiatorial games in order to survive. During a Light Cycle match, Flynn teams up with the brave security program Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) and together the two battle the system to try to free the Digital World. With Cindy Morgan.
