November 26 & December 1-2, 2012, at the Aero Theatre
Director Robert Zemeckis first came to Hollywood's attention while still a student at USC - his short film "A Field of Honor" won a student Academy Award and the admiration of Steven Spielberg. Zemeckis and his screenwriting partner, Bob Gale wrote 1941 for Spielberg, who also produced the pair's scripts for I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND, USED CARS and BACK TO THE FUTURE, all of which Zemeckis directed. Since then, Zemeckis has been an acclaimed director of ambitious, thoughtful drama (FORREST GUMP, CONTACT, CASTAWAY) and an innovator in the world of digital animation (THE POLAR EXPRESS, BEOWULF). He's also one of the top comedy filmmakers of his generation (WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?, BACK TO THE FUTURE 2 and 3, ROMANCING THE STONE).
Series compiled by Grant Moninger and Gwen Deglise. Program notes by Jim Hemphill.
