Writer-director Whit Stillman concludes his “doomed bourgeois in love” trilogy with this semi-autobiographical dramedy set in the early 1980s. Recent college graduates Alice Kinnon (Chloë Sevigny) and Charlotte Pingress (Kate Beckinsale) spend their days working their way up the ladder at a New York publishing house and their nights dancing and romancing at a Studio 54-style nightclub. This endearing portrait of dawning adulthood features a talented ensemble cast (including Robert Sean Leonard, Chris Eigeman and Jennifer Beals), scintillating banter and a soundtrack filled with disco classics.
