July 25 & 28, 2013, at the Aero Theatre

The Awareness Film Festival showcases films dealing with some of the world’s most pressing issues, including green and eco-friendly living, healthcare and alternative healing, political and veteran affairs, and nature and animal awareness. This engaging annual event brings together filmmakers, artists, environmentalists, educators, alternative-health practitioners and others in the film capital of the world.

For the fourth installment of the festival, the American Cinematheque is pleased to present a pair of inspiring documentaries as the opening- and closing-night programs. FEMME features interviews with 100 influential women from around the world, and G-DOG shows how Homeboy Industries and its founder, Father Greg Boyle, are helping gang members turn their lives around.

A portion of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the Los Angeles-based non-profit foundation Heal One World, which offers alternative treatments to low-income and underserved demographics. For more information about the Awareness Film Festival, including programs at other venues, go to
