LEONARD NIMOY REMEMBERED
Star Trek Triple Feature! Director Nicholas Meyer & Adam Nimoy In Person! Leonard Nimoy + Harve Bennett Tribute
STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN / STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK / STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME
Harve Bennett (August 17, 1930 - March 4, 2015) produced such television classics as “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “The Mod Squad” and “Rich Man, Poor Man.” He is also considered the man who rescued the STAR TREK franchise after a lackluster maiden voyage into cinema. Making Khan the sequel’s nemesis was a master stroke, but it was Bennett’s focus on the relationship between Spock, Kirk and McCoy that ensured the original Enterprise crew flew boldly on the big screen for four more films. Tonight’s program salutes him as well as actor-director Leonard Nimoy.
Introduction by director Nicholas Meyer and Leonard Nimoy's son Adam Nimoy.
STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN
1982, Paramount, 116 min, USA, Dir: Nicholas Meyer

In part one of the three-part story arc, the genetically engineered Khan, played with ferocious energy by Ricardo Montalban, escapes from a 15-year exile to exact revenge on James T. Kirk (William Shatner). Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols and the rest of the Enterprise crew must stop him from obtaining Project Genesis and using its power as a doomsday device.

STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK
1984, Paramount, 105 min, USA, Dir: Leonard Nimoy

At the end of THE WRATH OF KHAN, Spock’s dead ... or is he? Leonard Nimoy portrays the lovable, logical Vulcan and makes his directorial debut with the film that answers that question.

STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME
1986, Paramount, 119 min, USA, Dir: Leonard Nimoy

The most accessible STAR TREK film ever made sets its previously galaxy-spanning adventures on a contemporary Earth with a healthy dollop of humor. The Star Trek crew must harness the power of humpback whales, the only creatures that can communicate with and help stop an alien probe.

Scotty: Computer! Computer?
[He's handed a mouse, and he speaks into it]
Scotty: Hello, computer.
Dr. Nichols: Just use the keyboard.
Scotty: Keyboard. How quaint.

Screening formats: DCP (STAR TREK II) and 35mm (STAR TREK III and STAR TREK IV)
