Celebrating its 22nd year, NOIR CITY: HOLLYWOOD returns once again for a 10-night feast of danger, desire and despair. Eddie Muller, internationally renowned as the “Czar of Noir,” and host of TCM’s popular Noir Alley series, will join his Film Noir Foundation colleague Alan K. Rode to once again lead audiences on a fun and fascinating excursion through “Hollywood’s only organic artistic movement.”
This year’s program boasts a distinct international flavor, with Hollywood A and B titles joined by noir discoveries from Argentina (including two new restorations), Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Sweden. In addition to screenings at the Egyptian Theatre, Noir City pays a visit to the westside for an evening at the Aero Theatre curated by David Mamet, and to the Hollywood Legion Theater at Post 43 for a military noir double feature on March 10, of ACT OF VIOLENCE and SOMEWHERE IN THE NIGHT.
Series compiled by Eddie Muller, Alan K. Rode and Gwen Deglise. Program notes by Eddie Muller and Alan K. Rode.
