KING COHEN: THE WILD WORLD OF FILMMAKER LARRY COHEN
2017, La-La Land Entertainment, 104 min, USA, Dir: Steve Mitchell

A true filmmaking maverick in every sense of the word, Larry Cohen defies genre conventions to create a cinematic universe uniquely his own. Featuring a cast of collaborators, fellow filmmakers and admirers, KING COHEN chronicles the writer-director’s career from his early days of writing for TV to his eclectic array of cult films and his success with mainstream blockbusters. Never a dull moment - just like the man himself - KING COHEN revels in the creative spirit and ingenuity of mind over matter to make things happen.

THE STUFF
1985, New World, 93 min, USA, Dir: Larry Cohen

A newly popular food - the gooey "stuff" of the title - turns out to contain a deadly virus in Larry Cohen's sly combination of horror movie and social satire. Cohen regular Michael Moriarty stars, along with Garrett Morris, Paul Sorvino, Danny Aiello and, in a cameo, Brooke Adams.

Q: THE WINGED SERPENT
1982, 93 min, USA, Dir: Larry Cohen

Q is a winged resurrected Aztec deity decapitating New York citizens - and two-bit piano player Michael Moriarty knows just which skyscraper hides its nest. He intends to profit from the knowledge, much to the dismay of cops David Carradine and Richard Roundtree.

Please note that the 35mm print of Q has begun to fade. | Special Ticket Prices: $15 General, $13 Cinematheque Members. No vouchers.
