KIRK DOUGLAS REMEMBERED
Double Feature!
Cancelled - THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL / TWO WEEKS IN ANOTHER TOWN

Due to public health concerns, this show has been cancelled. We hope to re-schedule these films later in the year.

THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
1952, Warner Bros., 118 min, USA, Dir: Vincente Minnelli

Hugely entertaining - and still on-target - drama of the relentless scramble to succeed in Hollywood, starring Kirk Douglas as producer Jonathan Shields, a born hustler who creates great movies while he alienates everyone who loves him – including Lana Turner as the alcoholic daughter of a Barrymore-like matinee idol, Barry Sullivan as a trusting young director and Dick Powell as a sharp-tongued screenwriter.

35 mm!

TWO WEEKS IN ANOTHER TOWN
1962, Warner Bros. , 107 min, Dir: Vincente Minnelli

Kirk Douglas, Edward G. Robinson and Cyd Charisse star in this tale of a failing movie star who travels to a shoot in Rome to salvage his life and his career. Jack Andrus (Douglas) enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom, but he now seems to be in an equally dramatic tailspin both personally and professionally after a bout of alcoholism, a bitter divorce and a stay in a mental hospital. Now, when he's asked to work on a film in Italy by director Maurice Kruger (Robinson), Andrus quickly accepts - without realizing how much this one film will change his life. Based on the novel by Irwin Shaw.

Screening format: DCP (THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL). 35mm (TWO WEEKS IN ANOTHER TOWN)
