For his feature debut, writer-director Gert Embrechts turns the clock back to 1975 in this charming family comedy. When the first supermarket arrives in his rural village, 11-year-old cycling fan Freddy (Jelte Blommaert) is thrilled to learn that there will be a bicycle race to promote the grand opening. The boy’s father is a butcher, and vehemently opposed to the new store and its competition, but the winner gets to meet cycling star Eddy Merckx - and that may be enough to lure Freddy into the race.
