2018, 92 min, Argentina, Dir: Federico Marcello

Waves of Chinese immigrants to Argentina have brought with them an influx of Chinese-owned supermarkets in recent decades; filmmaker Federico Marcello’s father was a retailer whose business could not survive the increased competition. This low-budget mockumentary arises not from a sense of bitterness but of empathy, taking a light-hearted look at what happens when Facundo (Marcello) and a friend (Pablo Zapata) cross the ocean to open an Argentine market in China’s Fujian province.
