U2 3D
2008, National Geographic, 85 min, USA, Dir: Catherine Owens, Mark Pellington

This dazzling concert film follows one of the world’s biggest rock bands performing to stadiums full of fans in South America and Australia in 2006 during the Vertigo tour. Along with selections from their then-current album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, the 14 songs heard here include such U2 classics as “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Pride (In the Name of Love)” and “One.” Cutting-edge digital 3-D technology and 18 cameras were used to capture all the excitement from Bono and the band and produce an experience “even better than the real thing.”
