THE OX-BOW INCIDENT
1942, 20th Century Fox, 75 min, USA, Dir: William A. Wellman

Henry Fonda delivers one of his best (and his personal favorite) performances in this thrilling and thought-provoking Western. When a local rancher of a small Nevada town is found murdered and robbed of his cattle, the townspeople rally up a posse on a quest for justice. Two drifters, Gil (Fonda) and Art (Harry Morgan), find themselves caught up in the angry mob, and when the majority decides to lynch the suspects without a trial, it’s up to them to intervene. Costarring Mary Beth Hughes, with Anthony Quinn, William Eythe and Jane Darwell.
