This enchanting adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel is one to put alongside THE PRINCESS BRIDE as a fantasy classic. To prove his love, Tristan Thorn (Charlie Cox) travels through a portal from his English village to the magical kingdom of Stormhold to retrieve a falling star. He discovers that the star has taken the form of the beautiful Yvaine (Claire Danes) – who is being pursued by a trio of witches and the heirs to the Stormhold throne. Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Peter O’Toole and others provide top-notch support.


ROMEO + JULIET (1996)

Writer-director-producer Baz Luhrmann re-envisions the bard’s star-crossed lovers as Gen X gangsters, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. The film’s retro-futuristic look, with guns standing in for swords and Veracruz for the mythical Verona Beach, earned an Oscar nomination for production designers Catherine Martin and Brigitte Boch. Co-written by Craig Pearce, co-starring John Leguizamo, Paul Sorvino and Brian Dennehy, with original music by Radiohead and others.
